Before the credentials, here is why I do this.

 

For years I was the classic high achiever. University professor. Doctor of Education. Author. Business owner. Wife and mom trying to hold it all together.

On paper, everything looked right. But behind that?

I was completely burned out. Not the kind of burnout you fix with a vacation.

 

The kind that comes from doing everything you are supposed to do — following the frameworks, checking the boxes, running the plays — and still feeling like something fundamental does not fit.

I was not failing. I was forcing. And there is a difference.

The shift came when I stopped looking for a better strategy and started looking at my own design. I realized the problem was never my effort or my ambition. It was that I was running someone else's operating system.

When I built my approach around how I am actually wired — how I make decisions, where my energy is consistent, what kind of work I am built to do — everything changed. Not overnight. But structurally. In a way that held.

That is the work I now do with small business owners.
